Check Endorsements
KEY VALUE What it does ...
E-nnn-01 to
E-nnn-30
or
Eg-nnn-01 to
Eg-nnn-30
The RASWIN program permits you to define multiple check endorsements linked to different bank accounts. The trancode defines the specific bank that is associated with as a 3-digit numeric value called the bank-code, ranging from 000 to 999 (shown as 'nnn' in the sample key to the left). When you endorse a check, the system uses the letter E-, plus the bank code, plus a sequence number ranging from 01 to 99 to find the text you wish to print on the check endorsement.

The record key itself is made up of three parts -- the letter E plus the BANKCODE and the SEQUENCE NUMBER. There is a dash between these to segments of the key value. A few sample entries might look like this:

KEY VALUE Text Value
E-001-01 PAY TO THE ORDER OF
E-001-02 TIMBUCKTOO BANK
E-001-03 FOR DEPOSIT ONLY
E-001-04 CITY OF SOMEWHERE
E-001-05 ACCT # 123-456-789

In addition to the literal text values shown above, you can make the program to print certain data values on the check endorsement for the purpose of linking the document to the receipt information. These values and the corresponding data value are shown below. The "key word" is the name of data value; these must be surrounded with { curly brackets }.

KEY VALUE What it prints ...
{PMT-AMOUNT} The amount of the check being endorsed.
{PAYER-NAME} The name you entered on the payment item.
{DATE} The calendar date.
{TIME} The clock time the check is endorsed.
{ACCT-DATE} The accounting date.
{REG-NUM} The register number.
{REF-NUM} The reference number entered on the payment.
{USER-ID} The cashier 'user-id' value.
{RCPT-NUM} The receipt number.
check-VAL-PREFIX
    &
check-VAL-SUFFIX
When the system is preparing the data to send to the receipt printer for check endorsements, the first bit of data it sends is the check-VAL-PREFIX.

The normal setting is <VALIDATION-MODE><ALIGN-FORM-EDGE><BR>

These commands tell the printer to enter the 'validation mode' (print on slip paper instead of receipt paper), align the form to the edge of the paper, print one blank line.

The specific printer commands associated with each of the commands, (such as <VALIDATION-MODE>, for example) are automatically controlled by the program based on the printer type you have selected (such as Epson TMH-6000) via the 'special functions' menu.

Likewise, at the end of the printing function the system sends the check-VAL-SUFFIX, which is just a set of commands that tell the program how to end the print job.

The default setting is <eject-form><open-rollers><init>
