These settings tell the program about the Point-of-Sale type hardware that is attached to the workstation. This includes the receipt printer type and the number of cash-drawers. Note that all of these settings can be maintained via table maintenance, or via the MAIN MENU->MAINTENANCE->SPECIAL FUNCTIONS menu option.

Hardware Settings
KEY VALUE What it does ...
nnn-RCPT-AVAILABLE This setting tells RASWIN whether a receipt printer is attached to the workstation.

The leading NNN characters of the KEY value represents the REGISTER_NUMBER, such as 001, 002, etc.

The default value is y.
nnn-TEST-PRINT-MODE This setting tells RASWIN to skip tryping to send receipts, check endorsements, and document validations to the receipt printer but will still allow creating and viewing of these items on the screen. It also bypasses attempts to open any cash drawers that may be attached.

The default value is N
nnn-DRAWER-COUNT This setting tells RASWIN how many cash drawers are attached. The Epson printers recommended by Quadrant can normally support up to 2 drawers, with the proper drawer cables/adapters. Each cashier has a setting in the CASHIERS table that associates them with which drawer (or no drawer).

The default value is 1
nnn-CHECK-AVAILABLE This setting tells RASWIN whether or not the receipt printer connected to the workstation has the ability to perform check endorsements.

The default setting is: Y
nnn-SLIP-AVAILABLE This setting tells RASWIN whether or not the receipt printer connected to the workstation has the ability to perform document valiations.

The default setting is: Y
nnn-POLE-DISPLAY-ACTIVE This setting tells RASWIN whether or not a customer "pole-display" is connected to the workstation. Normally these are connected via a USB interface directly to the workstation. Special software drivers are installed to make these function with RASWIN.

The default setting is: N
SECURITY-LEVEL-OPEN-DRAWER This setting tells RASWIN what security level is needed to use the OPEN DRAWER function on the main menu. If a cashier has a level lower than this level, but is permitted to perform regular receipts that involve tenders of cash, or change due, then the drawer will open regardless of the value of this setting.

The default setting is: 99
